➕ New Training Record
Training Type
The category of training being recorded — e.g. AS9100 Internal Auditor, LOTO, First Aid. Training Types are defined under the Training Types tab and each carries a default recertification frequency. Selecting the correct type ensures this record feeds the right competency tracking and expiration alerts.
Frequency (Recertification)
How often this employee must repeat this training. The tool uses this value to calculate the next due date and will flag the record on the Expiring Soon view when that date approaches. Selecting N/A means no recertification is required — the record is treated as permanently valid. This field auto-populates from the Training Type default but can be overridden per record.
Certificate / Reference #
The certificate number, document control number, or external reference that proves this training occurred. During an AS9100 audit, this number is the link between the training record and objective evidence — the physical certificate, test result, or training log the auditor will ask to see. Leave blank only if no documentary evidence exists.

Training Manager — User Overview

The QMS Collective, LLC  ·  ISO 9001:2015 · Clause 7.2  ·  v

Why This Tool Exists

Most small aerospace shops track employee training in spreadsheets — or not at all. When an auditor asks for objective evidence of competence under ISO 9001:2015 Clause 7.2, a disorganized spreadsheet is a finding waiting to happen. The Training Manager replaces that spreadsheet with a structured register that logs training records, tracks recertification due dates, links training to competency requirements, and exports audit-ready evidence in seconds.

How It Works

Set Up Departments Add Training Types Add Employees Define Competencies Log Training Monitor Dashboard

What This Tool Does for You

  • Eliminates manual expiration tracking. The tool calculates every recertification due date automatically and surfaces expiring records before they lapse.
  • Closes the competency gap. Linking Training Types to Competencies means completing a training record automatically satisfies the associated competency — no double entry.
  • Produces audit evidence in seconds. Export a complete, formatted training register to Excel for any internal audit, external audit, or registrar review.
  • Preserves historical records. Inactive employees and superseded records are retained — critical for demonstrating sustained compliance over time.
  • Survives browser closes. Every data change auto-saves to localStorage and every Excel export includes a hidden backup sheet for full restore.
